Lethal Performance’s 2008 GT500 runs an 11.84@118.43 at Moroso Motorsports Park

The Lethal Performance 2008 Shelby Gt500 made it’s way to Moroso Motorsports Park for another night of drag racing. Although the weather wasn’t nearly as nice as the last time we made it out we still had a good time. If you remember we recently ran an 11.90@116.5 on an almost stock car with only cooling mods and a set of Hoosier drag radials. The night we ran that 11.90 a cold front had just arrived and we had weather in the mid 40’s. When we shot this video the air temps were in the mid 70’s with 80% humidity. There was so much moisture in the air that dew was dripping off the roofs of everyones cars in the staging lanes. This time we had added a JLT Carbon Fiber high flow intake and a custom tune from Justin@VMP Tuning. After installing the intake and the tune the car felt totally different. Much more powerful giving us the ability to break the tires loose on the street unlike before as well as the whine of the supercharger was dramatically increased. From the seat of the pants meter the intake and tune made a very big difference from where we were at before but I believe the reason our track times didn’t back that up was due to the 30 degree difference in air temperature we saw this evening. None the less we did pick up 2mph in the 1/4 and we feel if we see another cool night we’ll be able to pull off 11.60’s or 70’s without any issues. So for now enjoy the video and please feel free to give us a call if there’s anything we can help you with for your GT500!

[…] Lethal Performance’s GT500 11.84@118.43 Vid! We went out to the track again and we were very excited to run the car as we added a JLT Carbon Fiber CAI and a custom VMP tune from Justin. First off the car felt amazing the night I installed that stuff which I’ll be posting all about on Monday. Seriously the seat of the pants difference and sound of the car are amazing now. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t as favorable as our last track outing when we ran the 11.90@117. The temperature was 30 degrees warmer and the humidity was 80% leaving water dripping off the roofs of everyones car from the dew in the air. The combination of that, Derek not feeling like his driving was up to par and hot lapping the car left us with similar times as last week but with a 2mph increase for the 1/4. We’re expecting a cold front to move through on Monday which will hopefully stick around until Wed when we hit the track again. If it does we’ll see if we can pull off a high 11.60 or 11.70 which we definitely feel is very possible. So for now enjoy the vid and the rest of the weekend.
